FHRC also regularly engages in typical “citizen diplomacy”  when it brings the issues of human rights violations in Cuba to the attention of governments and multilateral organizations, as is the case with the various thematic special rapporteurs on human rights in Cuba. The United Nations  and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the OAS.

In this field, FHRC sometimes operates publicly – sending open letters to some of the special rapporteurs – or in the form of “quiet diplomacy”, when we interview privately and off the record with officials from those governments and international organizations.
