14Ymedio reports: “Danilo Maldonado, El Sexto, was released Tuesday after 10 months in detention in the prison of Valle Grande. Around 10 am, an officer entered the cell where the artist was detained and informed him to collect all his personal belongings. ‘I was handcuffed and waited outside for ‘the negotiator’ and that’s when they said they would release me, said the graffiti artist. Subsequently, he was escorted in a car to the door of his home in Arroyo Arenas.”

14y medio goes on to state that “as it was reported by the prison authorities, the artist will not be prosecuted. ‘I have been told that it is ‘void’ and an immediate release.'” In a telephone conversation with the Havana based digital newspaper, the graffiti artist, arrested last December for organizing a performance with two pigs painted with Raul and Fidel’s names, “joked about a possible legal claim on his part so that the police would return the animals seized during the moment of his arrest.”
