Havana, Cuba – Within 72 hours of her arrest, Lady in White member, Aide Gallardo will face a summary trial in the Mariano Court at 8am on Thursday, April 24th. Both Gallardo and her husband, activist Figueredo Angel Castellon, are currently in prison claiming for their immediate freedom. The couple has been charged with “contempt” in response to Gallardo allegedly crying out “milk for the children , food for the people, and long live human rights” on the streets of Havana.
In response, Ladies in White leader Berta Soler has declared that the “Ladies in White will appear before the Court of Marianao on Thursday to demand the immediate release of Aide and her husband.”
The Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba ( “FHRC” ) also demands the immediate release of Gallardo and Castellon.
