As published in Diario de Cuba, the “Committee of Citizens for Racial Integration (CIR) and #Otro18 (Another 18 campaign) will convene the Forum for Diversity and Identity, to be held in Havana on the 17 and 18 of December under the central theme Cuba, all possible diversity.

The meeting “will be held as part of the global celebration of the International Decade for People of African Descent, and will be organized into presentations and discussions covering various topics.”

Diario mentions that “those interested in participating can submit papers on topics such as’ The economic changes in Cuba vs excluded sectors’, ‘Lack and need for affirmative policies for population groups at risk’ or about ‘The absence of legal architecture for the defense of identities: Towards a Law on Protection of Minorities’.”

Additional topics include, “Alternative spaces of Cuban civil society,” “New contexts: people to people diplomacy in Cuba and the U.S. relationship” as well as “Participation and exercise of advocacy from the public before a new electoral law”.

The report adds that “the papers should not exceed 15 pages and must be written in Times New Roman, font size 12, with double spacing. A summary of one page should be sent by the participants to the following email: cubainterracial.gl@gmail.com before December 3. They will also be received throughout that same day.”
