May 1, 2025.- The Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba stands in solidarity with the international condemnation of the revocation of the parole of political prisoners José Daniel Ferrer and Félix Navarro. Ferrer and Navarro were arrested after the July 11, 2021 protests and, after serving unjust sentences in harsh prison conditions, were released in January 2025 through Vatican negotiations. Since then, they continued to denounce human rights violations until their recent violent arrest on April 29, 2025. They were confirmed to be in Mar Verde and Aguica prisons, respectively. The revocation of their parole exemplifies Castro’s repression against those who defend human rights. We strongly condemn these actions and urge the international community to demand the immediate release of all political prisoners in Cuba. Ferrer has written about the hostile environment he faces and the possibility of starting a hunger strike due to the treatment he is receiving.
