The Cuban Telecommunications monopoly, ETECSA, denied on Monday various media reports on the possibility that Cubans may have internet access from their homes in the near future. According ETECSA, “the data provided by various international sites regarding the price that would govern internet in Cuba is incorrect as these rates are applied to State Enterprises.”
“For several days now, false news of the deployment of internet access in homes has been circulating in various media outlets outside of Cuba” according to a brief statement from ETECSA.
